Alair Homes Arlington Coach of the Month

MAY 2025: Coach Carlos Dubose is the Alair Coach of the Month for May, works closely with our U9 and U10 boys teams, bringing energy and focus to every session. His dedication to helping young players grow is evident in the way he takes time to explain concepts clearly and makes sure each player stays engaged and learns at their own pace.

Carlos is passionate about the game and creates an environment where players feel supported and motivated to improve. Director of Coaching Mo Tayari commends Coach Carlos for his consistent effort and positive impact, highlighting his patience, attention to detail, and strong presence within the coaching staff.

FEBRUARY 2025: The Alair Homes Arlington Coach of the Month is Coach Elvin Arbaiza, who joined Arlington Soccer this year as the head coach for the Boys Academy U13/U14 teams. A former DC United Academy player and member of the DC United U23 team, Coach Arbaiza also played for the U20 El Salvador National Team.

Both of his teams have had remarkable success. The 2011 team were finalists at the Jacksonville Puma King Tournament and won the EDP Cup, while the 2012 team is currently in second place in the ECNL conference.

Director of Coaching Mo Tayari shared his thoughts on Coach Arbaiza: “We are happy to have Elvin as part of our coaching staff. His energy, love for the game, and passionate commitment are clearly reflected in the players’ performances.  We look forward to seeing even more from Elvin in the future, he is a great addition to our team.

JANUARY 2025: Coach Emily Hoover has been named the Moss Building and Design Coach of the Month!

Emily Hoover has been with the club for several years, coaching across recreational, ADP and travel programs. She’s known for her unwavering dedication to the players, always taking the time to listen and guide them with a positive mindset. Emily currently coaches the 2014G Silver and 2010G Black teams, where she focuses on both soccer development and personal growth.

“Emily’s commitment to her players goes beyond the game," Director of Coaching Mo Tayari said. "She creates a positive, supportive environment where athletes thrive both on and off the field."

NOVEMBER 2024: Coach Raefer Warner has been named the Moss Building and Design Coach of the Month!

Warner leads the 2013 Boys White team, which is impressively playing a year up and currently holds the top spot in their bracket. His dedication to his players is evident as he consistently pushes them to improve during practices and games, ensuring they give their best effort. Known for his supportive nature, Warner is often one of the first to step in and assist his fellow coaches in critical moments. 

Director of Coaching Mo Tayari highlights Coach Raefer as a shining example of the club's development pathway, noting his journey from assistant coach for several years to head coach. "His progress, enthusiasm, and passion for the game make him a great asset to the team and the club," Tayari said.

 

OCTOBER 2024: Coach Jillian Maslyn has been named the Moss Building and Design Coach of the Month!

Maslyn has been with the club since 2012, starting as an assistant travel coach before moving into the head coach role. A native of Fairfax Station who played collegiately at Syracuse, Maslyn currently coaches the 2011 Girls White and 2013 Girls White teams. She led the 2011 Girls White to the Loudoun Premier Cup championship to open the 2024-25 season.

"She is well-organized and brings her experience as a former soccer player into her coaching," Director of Coaching Mo Tayari said. "Her passion for the game translates into a focus on player development, ensuring that each athlete grows and improves under her guidance. Coach Jillian’s commitment to fostering talent makes her an invaluable asset to the team."

SEPTEMBER 2024: Coach David Camara has been named the Moss Building and Design Coach of the Month!

A longtime youth soccer coach in the DMV, Camara is in the second year of his second stint with Arlington Soccer. He is currently the co-director for the Arlington Futures U7/U8 program. He is also the head coach for the 2015 Boys Pre-Academy team, which finished atop its bracket at the Loudoun Premier Cup over Labor Day Weekend. 

"David has done an outstanding job with the 2015 Pre-Academy team, bringing exceptional energy and knowledge to their training," Director of Coaching Mo Tayari said. "The team recently won the Loudoun Premier Cup and has been playing up a year, which speaks volumes about his coaching. David’s passion and technical expertise are evident, and we are fortunate to have him on our staff."

AUGUST 2024: Travel coach Terell Williamson has been named the Moss Building and Design Coach of the Month!

Williamson, a former Arlington Soccer player, has coached with the club for several years in different capacities. This past season he coaches girls and boys travel teams.

He led the 2011 Girls Blue team to a Virginia Youth Soccer Association State Cup 13U championship and an appearance in the US Youth Soccer (USYS) Eastern Presidents Cup final. As a result, 2011G Blue qualified for the 2024 USYS National Presidents Cup in July in Kansas. In addition to his coaching during the year, he also is a staple at Arlington Soccer summer day camps and at the annual residential camp.

"Terell is a determined and skilled coach," Director of Coaching Mo Tayari said. "Having been a player himself, he understands the game exceptionally well and knows how to motivate his team. I had the pleasure of coaching him and now he is part of the coaching staff, where he continues to excel."
