Head Coach: Philipp Wank

Coach Philipp is born and raised in Dortmund, Germany and holds a UEFA B License and is candidate for the UEFA A license with over 20 years of coaching experience. He coached youth and men’s teams at the highest level in Germany and worked for the professional Greek club of Olympiacos Pireaus before joining Arlington Soccer Association. Under his guidance the men’s team won the UPSL regular season championship in Spring 2022 and was crowned divisional playoff champions in Fall 22, Spring 23 and Fall 23 making three appearances in the national tournament. Next to his accolades in soccer Coach Philipp holds two law degrees and worked as head of legal for an international company for over a decade.

Assistant Coach: Xavier Djiki

Coach Xavier is from Cameroon and holds a USSF C license. He currently serves as first assistant coach at Hood College and was interims head coach in 2023. In 2022 he was assistant coach at Howard University. Despite his young age he has a deep knowledge of the game and specializes in video analyses and scouting. As a 2020 graduate from York (Pa.) with a Bachelor of Science in supply chain & operations management, he helped lead the Spartans that received votes in the top 25 in 2018.

Goalkeeper Coach: Cristian Mejia

Coach Cristian brings a wealth of experience from playing for top youth professional academies in Mexico, to now coaching at some of the prestigious clubs in the DMV. He currently works as director of goalkeeping at Potomac Soccer Association. Coach Cristian provides a phenomenal training environment with highest standards for our goalkeepers on the pitch and always has an open ear for every player off the pitch.
